Job Title: Quality Control Manager

Day Shift

Location - Edmonton

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Manager to lead all quality assurance and inspection activities within our machining and welding facility.

The QC Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all fabricated, machined, and welded components meet customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality requirements.

This role includes overseeing inspection processes, maintaining certifications, supporting production teams, and driving continuous improvement across the shop.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage administrative responsibilities to meet quality objectives.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Root Cause Analysis reports.
  • Communicate with clients and vendors to ensure satisfaction with quality standards.
  • Oversee internal and external audits to maintain quality certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards such as CWB, CSA, API, and ISO 9001.
  • Directly oversee the QC department, ensuring performance, safety, and quality standards are met.
  • Support training, coaching, and performance development for department staff.
  • Occasionally perform hands-on tasks such as calibrating welding or heat-treatment equipment.
  • Develop and enforce quality procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans.
  • Oversee audits including ABSA, API, ISO, and CWB Level 1.

Essential Skills

  • 7+ years of experience in QC leadership.
  • Experience overseeing quality control activities for machining, fabrication, and welding operations.
  • Proficiency in API Q1 Licensing, ISO 9001, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and Excel.
  • 5+ years of experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • NDT Level 2 Certification.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers regarding quality requirements, inspections, and documentation packages.
  • Experience with customer relations in a quality control context.
