Job Overview

As an Auto Physical Damage Claims Supervisor, you will lead and support the claims team in delivering a consistent, high-quality service experience while driving business results and maintaining strong customer service standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accountable for team performance metrics including productivity, quality, and service levels.
  • Provide exceptional customer service.
  • Coordinate and supervise daily activities of a national claims team.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to staff and specialists.
  • Manage service levels by organizing, distributing, monitoring work flow and setting priorities to ensure maximum efficiency and productivity as guided by corporate policies, procedures and business plans.
  • Conduct or contribute to employee development, and ย employee performance management through coaching and following up on the development of their team's technical competencies.
  • Conduct periodic review of claims files and coach team to strive for continuous improvement and development ย by setting and tracking individual and team performance objectives.
  • Provide direction and leadership in areas such as: liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiations and establishing reserves for claims.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • College or university degree preferred.
  • Currently pursuing or completed a CIP designation is a strong asset.
  • Five or more years adjusting experience, including increasing complexity and decision-making responsibility.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience (formal or informal) required, with experience leading remote or hybrid teams preferred.
  • Proven ability to coach, motivate, and develop employees in a performance driven culture.
  • Strong customer service, communication, investigative, analytical, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of policy wordings, corporate guidelines, and claims procedures across lines of business.
  • Knowledge of automobile, habitational, farm, and commercial policies, as well as relevant medical and legal terminology.
  • Bilingualism in French and English is considered an asset.
