Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for overseeing the Quality Department by ensuring product quality and compliance through inspections, documentation, and calibration activities. Maintains ISO-compliant documentation, analyzes quality data, and tracks key quality objectives. Supports supplier qualification, material verification, and audit programs while providing critical quality records and reporting to drive continuous improvement.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct and document receiving, in-process and final inspections.

  • Identify, document, and report all non-conformances using NCR forms; follow through with disposition, verification, root cause analysis, and corrective actions as required.

  • Perform calibration of measuring and test equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with quality standards.

  • Create, maintain, and control quality documentation in compliance with ISO Quality Management System requirements.

  • Analyze data from NCRs and other quality sources; prepare reports and present findings for monthly Steering Committee meetings and annual Quality Management System review.

  • Set and Track Quality Objectives (S.Q.U.I.P.S).

  • Review and approve of raw material Mill Certificates for received raw material, coordinate and prepare testing requests for materials requiring validation prior to acceptance of gun material testing requests.

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of ISO Quality System

  • Approve External Vendors by receiving inspection, First Articles, or audits.

  • Lead the Internal Quality Audit program; support planning, preparation, and execution of internal and external audits.

  • Retrieve and review quality records, including raw material certifications and inspection data, to support manufacturing and customer requests.

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma required.

  • Related trade or technical schooling preferred.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in the Quality Control field or a related trade

  • Machine Shop experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES

  • Solid knowledge, understanding, and experience with ISO 9001 Quality Management System

  • Able to perform effectively under pressure and in high-stress situations

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings

  • Work well with minimal supervision.
