JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for the operation and execution of Entertainment shows and offerings via Show Control. Applies advanced level knowledge in the use of Control Systems for Lighting, Audio, Video, Lasers, Fountains and Special Effects. Has fundamental knowledge of networking protocols for AVL systems. Frequently communicates with multiple departments to ensure show elements are functioning as expected and with the correct timing.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the operation of the Entertainment Control Room (ECR) or designated Show Control device(s) within the assigned venue or event. Including, but not limited to, the operation of lighting, audio, and video in a live show situation using various control systems such as QSYS, Alcorn McBride, TAIT Navigator, GrandMA, DigiCo, Land Supervisors and others.
  • Acts as a point of contact for daily operations for technical elements as assigned by a lead or member of management. Executes show elements as timing dictates and communicates confirmations and challenges to respective parties.
  • Verify functionality of assigned equipment and perform daily start-up and shutdown procedures. Troubleshoot equipment that is not performing correctly and escalate malfunctioning items and problematic show quality concerns to the responsible party.
  • Communicate and coordinate with divisional partners, interdepartmental partners such as Ride Show, Show Systems, Attractions Operations and vendors. This includes communicating resource needs and concerns to immediate management.
  • Ensure proper completion of all technical documentation; to include daily checklists, daily FYIs, inventory and other such documentation.
  • Utilize downtime or slower operational times to expand knowledge base and continue education of evolving systems and new technologies by attending on property workshops/classes, along with seeking out learning opportunities.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION: 

  • Technical school is preferred. 
  • Associate degree (AA) or Bachelor's degree is preferred. 

EXPERIENCE: 

  • 3-5 years experience using advanced control systems, likely within the theme park/theater industry in a technical capacity preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 

  • Proven ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Prior experience on advanced show control systems such as QSYS, Alcorn McBride, Birket, Allen Bradley, DigiCo, GrandMA and TAIT Navigator preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge in technical disciplines needed to operate assigned venue.
  • Intermediate computer skills with basic experience in Microsoft Office suite required.
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking protocols for AVL systems.
