Job Purpose
Drives the continual development of a quality culture focused on zero defects. Develops, innovates and supports the strategic transformation of the Quality Management System (QMS) per ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, along with other applicable international standards. Oversees the Business Management processes and aligns with the Global QMS Team. Manages and supports the multi-site QMS for the Center of Excellence (COE) through the development and improvement of processes/procedures, internal auditor competence, internal audit program, and overall quality culture. Drives the strategic scope of the QMS within the COE and collaborates with other COEs to standardize best practices. Collaborates with operations, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, and executive stakeholders to drive improvement. Manages the Corporate QMS Team.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Reports to the Global Director QMS
  • Manages the Corporate QMS Team
  • Oversees the management of the COE audit program, including auditor resources
  • Develops, trains and mentors other personnel on auditing practices, quality methods, and other related quality tools
  • Maintains COE QMS and related documentation
  • Drives problem solving through effective root cause identification and corrective action
  • Collaborates and calibrates with other COE QMS managers as part of the global QMS
  • Drives QMS initiatives and strategies, processes, policies, communication, and guidelines to comply with quality standards and regulations (as defined by EnerSys leadership strategic direction and context of the organization).
  • Oversees the maintenance of required quality certifications across multiple locations
  • Oversees company processes focusing on customer requirements, needs, and expectations-both internal and external.
  • Engages with COE leadership and management teams to propose and implement QMS initiatives, quality objectives and KPIs while providing robust risk assessment data to aid in decision making.
  • Innovates by deploying a quality management culture throughout the organization, supporting COE quality sites and different lines of business, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and readiness for quality system audits.
  • Promotes a process approach mindset and global standardization of processes, best practices and methods.
  • Promotes the continual improvement quality culture and drives internal projects to achieve simplified and effective results.
  • Coordinates audit teams to perform quality audits to ensure standard and procedural compliance and to continually improve quality performance.
  • Mentors and develops auditors to improve competence and ensure continuing professional development
  • Ensures audit alignment, schedule visibility, and collection of outputs in the system of record. Serves as the liaison for a global (QMS).
  • Travel 25%

Qualifications
  • BS degree (or equivalent) in related disciplines. Master's degree a plus
  • Minimum 10+ years of Quality Management Systems experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Quality tools (i.e. FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, VDA 6.3, etc)
  • Experience in direct management and development of people and teams.
  • Proven experience leading regional or multi-site QMS strategy and transformation initiatives
  • Experience managing certification schemes (i.e. ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100)
  • Lead auditor trained and/or certified in ISO 9001, IATF 16949, and/or other applicable international standards
  • Other relevant QMS standards a plus (ISO 13485, ISO 19443, NQA-1, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success influencing senior leadership and driving cross-functional alignment
  • Experience managing teams across multiple locations and leading through indirect influence
  • Experience with budget planning, resource allocation, and prioritization of quality initiatives
  • Strong executive communication skills, including presentation of KPIs, risks, and strategic recommendations
  • Demonstrated change management and organizational development experience
  • Experience leading management review, governance processes, and enterprise-level corrective action escalation
  • Experience working with AI to improve business system efficiency
  • Experience in project management and successfully delivering results
  • Preferred experience in regulated industries and customer/regulatory audit interface
