To thrive as a QA Automation Developer, you need strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript, a solid understanding of software testing principles, and experience with automation frameworks. Familiarity with tools like Selenium, Jenkins, and test management systems, as well as relevant certifications like ISTQB, is highly advantageous.
