Job description

Overview

We are seeking a talented and detail-driven Jr QA Developer with quality assurance at the center of the role and working skill or familiarity across the full stack. The QA Developer will play an integral role in testing and contributing to the collaborative design, construction, implementation, and upkeep of QES's primary BI and in-house ERP projects, as well as general development and automation projects.

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of software testing methodologies and general design strategies, along with practical skill or familiarity with development languages. This individual will play a key role in proofing and supporting the design and creation of specifically targeted development projects and solutions as they evolve into enterprise-level solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Test development items as they are completed throughout the sprint.
  • Provide user support and case management.
  • Plan and manage prerelease manual regression tests.
  • Maintain automated tests using Playwright.
  • Create and maintain unit tests.
  • Write, review, and maintain test cases across the Laravel back end and Vue JS front end.
  • Validate JSON payloads, API requests/responses, and error handling.
  • Contribute to bug fixes and small features alongside test coverage.
  • Clearly document defects and verify fixes through release.
  • Support data lifecycle management.
  • Push and pull data with thirdparty applications.
  • Consume, map, and validate JSON/REST APIs.
  • Support BI reports using Power BI.
  • Support database management using MySQL/MS SQL Server.
  • Contribute to systems integration, design mapping, and documentation.
  • Write clean, welldocumented code and test methodologies.

    Knowledge and Experience Requirements

    Minimum Qualifications
  • Ideally 13 years of experience in development, testing, and delivery duties as described; 13 years may be considered with strong QA fundamentals.
  • Strong skill with the MySQL environment.
  • Working understanding of manual and automated testing practices, including regression, unit, and APIlevel testing.
  • Solid aptitude and insight into systems integration, design mapping, and documentation.
  • Strong commitment to documentation and writing clean, welldocumented code and test methodologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
