Job description

We are seeking an innovative Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will design and execute detailed manual and automated test plans on mobile and web applications, ensuring the seamless functionality of our systems. You'll take ownership of coordinating testing activities, troubleshooting issues, and resolving bugs to deliver high-quality solutions. As a QA Engineer, you'll lead comprehensive regression testing to verify system performance after fixes, acting as a trusted subject matter expert across multiple systems. Your expertise will drive the validation of test cases, ensuring they are thorough, effective, and aligned with business objectives.
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured manual and automated test plans and test cases
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved
  • Modify detailed functional specifications
  • Experience in driving Automation framework strategy selection, design, and implementation for large scale projects
  • Coach analysts through test strategies for individual systems and programs
  • Be a subject matter expert on all common systems used at HPOne
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 3-5 years of QA experience
  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies and processes (i.e., Scrum, Kanban)
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking software tools (i.e., Jira, Bugzilla, etc.)
  • Ability to implement test automation strategies
  • Proficiency in test case automation using Mabl or other QA automation tools
  • A solid understanding of SOAP and/or REST API's is a must
  • Ability to understand complex business systems and developed functional specifications
  • Ability to use SQL and write queries
  • Knowledge of web services, HTML, JavaScript
  • Consumer Facing Mobile applications and Web experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment in a positive and supportive manner
  • Strong problem solving, planning and decision-making skills, measures performance against goals, and evaluates results
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of individuals at all levels of the organization

Preferred Skills/Abilities:
  • Experience with performance and/or security testing

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position (e.g., sitting or standing) for extended periods of time, typically in a cubicle environment (constant noise, fluorescent overhead lighting)
  • Frequent use of a computer, dual monitors, keyboard, mouse, and other standard office equipment such as a telephone, copier, and printer.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, including exchanging information in person, in writing, by telephone, email or video conferencing.
  • Visual and auditory acuity required to perform job duties effectively, including reading, writing, and interpreting information on screens or in print.
