Vice President of Purchasing – Pro AV Distribution

The Vice President of Purchasing leads all procurement, inventory planning, and vendor management activities for a $1B+ purchasing organization. This executive role is responsible for optimizing inventory turns, fill rates, working capital, and vendor profitability while ensuring product availability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead purchasing, inventory management, and demand planning strategies.
  • Manage inventory performance, including turns, fill rates, aging inventory, and stock availability.
  • Negotiate vendor rebates, MDF, growth incentives, and strategic purchasing agreements.
  • Build and maintain executive-level manufacturer relationships.
  • Drive profitability through inventory optimization, forecasting accuracy, and working capital management.
  • Lead, develop, and mentor purchasing and inventory teams.
  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Product Management, and Operations to support growth and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of purchasing, inventory, or supply chain leadership experience.
  • Proven success managing large-scale inventory investments and vendor partnerships.
  • Strong financial, analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Experience in Pro AV, technology, or distribution environments preferred.

  • Bachelor's Degree
