Purchasing Assistant The assistant would be responsible for assisting the Buyer/Sr. Buyer in all aspects of Purchasing. The assistant will help managing strategic sourcing projects from beginning to end with the ultimate objective of reducing costs for the company. Job Duties: Conduct detailed analyses to support the buyers sourcing decisions and savings projections 1 Data Entry, Structure and manage daily activities; sample tracking, item set-up (BAAN/Cost System), system record accuracy (BAAN/Cost System), Purchase Order Tracking, Measuring approval samples to specs before giving to designer to approve. Support the buyer Tracking vendor spend Maintain tools and processes to monitor internal/external compliance Support the buyer in negotiations/communication with new and prospective suppliers Assist with samples, filing, etc. Develop deep understanding of categories being sourced Write Purchase Orders and prepare supporting materials Handle inspection requests/reports, samples, data and QA- QC Buyer assist follow up Filing PO’s, component art and Gift Worksheets Qualifcations: Bachelor’s Degree preferred or +3 years’ experience equivalent 2 to 3 years experience as an assistant category manager or involved in project-based strategic sourcing initiatives.
