Job description

PURCHASING ASSISTANT

Summary

Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Purchasing Assistant provides essential clerical and administrative support to the Purchasing department and other areas as needed. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate records, processing documentation, and assisting with day-to-day purchasing activities to ensure efficient and timely operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time.

  • Accurately enter purchase order data into the computer system.
  • Send purchase orders and pricing requests to vendors in a timely manner.
  • Maintain organized files for purchase orders, requisitions, and other related documents.
  • Input quote data into the system and ensure proper filing.
  • Complete and maintain all necessary records, documentation, and paperwork.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and workplace regulations.
  • Provide support for MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) purchasing activities.
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels of office supplies; reorder as needed.
  • Compile and distribute reports to suppliers as required.
  • As part of the AROW Global team you will need to understand the AROW Business System policy and objectives and how you affect conformance to them.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
  • 1–2 years of experience in an administrative, purchasing, or clerical support role (manufacturing experience a plus).
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and ERP or purchasing software systems.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor and ability to work effectively with internal departments and external vendors.
  • Basic understanding of purchasing processes and supply chain principles is preferred.
