Job description

Essential Functions

  • Pulls orders and packages material for shipment to meet customer requirements using the forklift and other equipment.
  • Ships orders to be delivered on the date requested by the customer.
  • Receives branch-to-branch transfers, customer returns, and overseas containers within a strict time frame to ensure minimal turnaround times.
  • Maintains warehouse and yard environments to provide the cleanest and safest environment possible.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Safely operates forklifts; follows proper procedures to take care of forklifts and other equipment.
  • Collects products from bins following the radio frequency (RF) system.
  • Has product inspected for accuracy and quality.
  • Packages products per Star Pipe Products' standards.
  • Completes all necessary RF functions to allow bills of lading to be created.
  • Loads product onto carrier's vehicles.
  • Unloads delivery vehicles and inspects deliveries for accuracy and quality.
  • Sweeps floors; operates the floor scrubber.
  • Collects and disposes of trash from warehouse and yard.
  • Inspects bins, equipment, and warehouse for safety; takes appropriate safety precautions, and wears proper personal protective equipment.
  • Accurately pulls orders and stocks inventory items in the correct bins.
  • Processes approximately 900 order lines per month during busy times.
  • Communicates issues such as equipment damage, incidents, safety concerns, etc., to management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
