Job description

What You'll Do:

This position works under general direction and requires extensive knowledge of federal and state regulations, standards and court orders governing care, custody, treatment, programming and environment of consumers/residents in mental health and developmental centers and man-power planning.

ย ย ย ย Manage mental health programmatic services; plans, directs and implements comprehensive mental health program for inmates at all institutions assigned consistent with DRC policy and Bureau of Behavioral Health Services Protocol
ย ย ย ย Assures efficient and effective operation of Mental health Reception Process, Crisis Care, RTU Care and General Mental Health Outpatient Services and any other specialty MH unit
ย ย ย ย Assures proper access to mental health care
ย ย ย ย Assigns and completes QA/QI duties (e.g., record reviews, compiling data, case presentations) and completes QA/QI monthly reports
ย ย ย ย Monitors program logs and service delivery logs and MH grievances
ย ย ย ย Completes MH monthly reports
ย ย ย ย Coordinates with Bureau of Behavioral Health Services Operation Support Center (e.g., contract monitoring and staffing issues)
ย ย ย ย Responds to inquiries regarding MH caseloads
ย ย ย ย Coordinates services between institutions and Community Linkage, SSI, ACT, reentry, etc.
ย ย ย ย Communicates with institution management for SPART, warden's meetings
ย ย ย ย Responds to community inquiries regarding mental health caseload
ย ย ย ย Collects mental health documentation for ACA files
ย ย ย ย Conducts mental health management meetings
ย ย ย ย Attends other meetings as assigned
ย ย ย ย Coordinates mental health transfers (e.g., inside and outside of the institution, verifying both written and verbal communication are sent to receiving institution)
ย ย ย ย Verifies scheduling for treatment teams and for involuntary medication
ย ย ย ย Acts as a liaison with prison administration and other governmental and community groups on mental health issues. Responsible for the implementation and ongoing efforts of the electronic health record for mental health.
ย ย ย ย As a member of interdisciplinary team, responsible for assigned mental health interventions for a caseload of inmates with mental illness
ย ย ย ย Conducts specific individual and group clinical interventions as prescribed on the individual mental health treatment plan using clinical intervention strategies within scope of practice
ย ย ย ย Completes detailed screens, mental health evaluations and crisis services within scope of practice
ย ย ย ย Provides clinical direction to lower-level psychologists/ QA/QI and psychology assistants
ย ย ย ย Serves as treatment team coordinator.ย 
ย ย ย ย Attends meetings and/or conferences of quality assurance, clinical supervision and case consultation
ย ย ย ย Attends and instructs in-service training sessions and workshops for professional development
ย ย ย ย Conducts expert-witness assessments, In accordance with training and scope of practice, administers and interprets psychometric tests as requested as part of treatment needs for specific diagnoses, treatment and psychological individual and group interventions
ย ย ย ย Administers, scores and interprets individual psychological tests or test batteries for purposes of crisis intervention, neuropsychological issues, risk assessment, severe behavioral management cases, and programming
ย ย ย ย Conducts assessments for suicide potential, probate and re-commitment hearings
ย ย ย ย Conducts various DRC institutions and program audit functionsย 
ย 

License to practice psychology in Ohio pursuant to Section 4732.09 and 4732.21 of revised code; 12 mos. exp. as a licensed psychologist; 1 course in employee trg. & development or 3 mos. exp. providing work direction & training or supervision to psychology students, assistants, or psychologists.ย
