PSM Coordinator

Division/Department:  Pork

Location:   Marshalltown

Job title:   Process Safety Management Coordinator

Reports to: Drew Sasse

Hours:

1st shift (40+ hrs/week)

(Flexible as needed)

General Description:

Maintain a compliant PSM program at the facility with the use of the APSM software. Responsible for EPA RMP compliance and making regular updates to the plant RMP filing with EPA. Develop and review the SOP’s for the refrigeration system, ensure that all P&ID’s are up to date. Understand interpretations of construction and safety codes as related to operating an ammonia system in a safe and efficient manner and implement such practices. Review all PM’s for mechanical integrity compliance, ensure that all piping is labeled and valve numbers are in place and accurate. Maintain all PSM documentation and training records that pertain to the PSM program. Organize, schedule and conduct PSM meetings, compile and maintain PSM action item logs. Review documentation for accuracy to ensure compliance with OSHA and EPA requirements. Effective communication with. Project Manager and others on PSM related jobs/activities. Lead compliance audits, PHA’s, and mechanical integrity inspections. Prioritize and track progress on open PSM and EPA recommendations. Perform other duties as needed or assigned

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of OSHA PSM & EPA RMP regulatory requirements
  • Ammonia refrigeration and industry knowledge preferred
  • Must be people oriented, be able to understand employee’s needs, good motivator, and be able to teach new skills to employees
  • AutoCAD experience preferred
  • Good communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational, math and statistical skills
  • Must have a good mechanical aptitude
  • Team Player with leadership skills

Education Requirements (if applicable)

  • Technical schooling with mechanical or electrical emphasis helpful.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
