Evening Leica Jobs (NOW HIRING)

Holy Cross Hospital is looking for a locum pathologist starting as soon as credentialed! Practice setting: hospital-based pathology lab. Reason for coverage: backfill one person retiring and a new additional position. Dates of coverage: ASAP – March 2025. Call schedule: rotating evening, weekend, and holiday coverage between 5 pathologists. Call ratio: 1:5.

Certifications held by the laboratory: CLIA, CAP, AABB, TJC. Approx. number of cases read per day: 25-30.

The locum tenens physician's responsibility for the clinical lab includes electrophoresis, pathology interpretation, and hematology differential review. The locum provider will not be responsible for grossing their own specimens or cutting their own frozen sections on the cryostat.

The group consists of 5 physicians, 4 histotechnologists, 1 pathology assistant, and 2 cytotechnologists. The locum tenens physician will be required to supervise other healthcare providers. Other pathologists will be present during the locum's coverage.

Described equipment includes Leica ASP300S processors, Leica CM1800 cryostat, and Olympus microscope. Cytospin documentation system/EMR: EPIC. Estimated credentialing timeframe: ASAP. Provider must be local - only mileage is reimbursed (mileage billed at the IRS standard rate).

Required anatomic pathology procedures: surgical pathology, GI pathology, GU pathology, neuropathology, hematopathology (bone marrow, lymph nodes), interpretation of bone marrow aspirate/bx, and cytology. Required clinical pathology procedures: hematology, microbiology, chemistry/serology, and blood bank.

Board certified and FL state license required. Local preferred. 25k conversion fee cap.
