Job description

An established engineering firm is seeking a Senior Survey Project Manager (PLS) to lead and grow a well-established surveying operation in the Charleston, SC market. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for an experienced survey professional with a strong background managing teams, projects, and operational performance within a growing surveying environment. The person in this role will oversee a sizable operation with multiple field crews, project managers, and office staff while helping support continued growth across the region.
Survey Project Manager (PLS) Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee daily operations of a growing surveying division in the Charleston market
- Manage and mentor a large team including field crews, project managers, and office personnel
- Provide leadership and direction to approximately 10-12 field crews and 8-10 office staff members
- Oversee project execution, staffing allocation, scheduling, and operational efficiency
- Support and develop multiple Project Managers within the organization
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, municipalities, contractors, and developers
- Ensure projects are completed accurately, on schedule, and within budget
- Drive operational growth and support continued expansion of the surveying division
- Review survey deliverables and ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations
- Assist with business development efforts and strategic planning initiatives
Senior Survey Project Manager (PLS) Requirements:
- Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in South Carolina required
- 10+ years of experience managing survey projects and staff
