Key Responsibilities
Job responsibilities will include supporting the Survey Project Manager in the planning, coordination, and execution of land surveying projects for civil engineering, land development, transportation, municipal, and construction projects. This position serves as a key liaison between field crews, office staff, engineers, clients, and regulatory agencies to help ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, on schedule, and within budget.
  • Assist the Survey Project Manager with the management of multiple surveying projects from proposal through project completion.
  • Coordinate field crew schedules, office production, and project priorities.
  • Prepare project scopes.
  • Review survey field data, calculations, plats, legal descriptions, and final deliverables for quality and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with civil engineers, project managers, CAD technicians, and clients to support engineering design and construction activities.
  • Monitor project progress and schedules while identifying and resolving potential issues.
  • Communicate project status, timelines, and deliverables with clients, contractors, and internal project teams.
  • Assist with preparation of proposals, contracts, change orders, and invoicing.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality standards, client specifications, state surveying regulations, and applicable industry standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of efficient survey workflows and best practices.
  • Participate in project meetings and coordinate survey requirements throughout the design and construction process.
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Three or more years of progressively responsible experience in land surveying or survey project coordination.
  • Working knowledge of boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, construction staking, utility, and as-built surveys.
  • Familiarity with survey computations, legal descriptions, plats, and record research.
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Carlson Survey, or similar surveying software.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Valid driver's license.
