Job description

The Provider Data Analyst is responsible for maintaining the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of 
provider data within the credentialing and network database system. This role plays a critical part in 
supporting credentialing operations, provider onboarding, and regulatory compliance through data 
validation, system optimization, reporting, and cross-departmental collaboration. The analyst ensures that 
provider records are maintained according to established standards and supports initiatives to enhance 
data governance across the organization.

Job Responsibilities
Ensure integrity and accuracy of provider data across all credentialing software platforms (e.g., 
MD-Staff, Cactus, Credential Stream), including demographic, licensure, certification, and 
privileging information.
Conduct regular audits and data quality checks to identify discrepancies, duplicates, or incomplete
records and implement corrective actions.
Serve as a liaison between the credentialing team, IT, and system vendors for technical 
troubleshooting, updates, and improvements.
Develop and maintain custom and ad hoc reports to support credentialing, enrollment, privileging
and compliance needs.
Support process automation and workflow enhancements to improve data entry, tracking, and 
communication.
Manage user access rights, monitor data usage patterns, and ensure compliance with privacy and
security policies.
Document data management procedures, data definitions, and workflow standards to support 
training and consistency.
Collaborate with teams across credentialing, provider enrollment, contracting, and quality to align
and streamline provider data practices.
Participate in system implementation projects, upgrades, and data migrations with attention to 
detail and data integrity standards.
Prepare documentation for audits and regulatory surveys related to data integrity and system configuration.
Completes duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
    Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
    At least 2 years of experience working with credentialing databases or provider data systems in a healthcare environment.
    Familiarity with credentialing processes and regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission, NCQA).
    Demonstrated experience with credentialing software such as MD-Staff, Cactus, or Echo.
    Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and report generation.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
    Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to data quality improvement.
    Knowledge of provider data standards and healthcare provider lifecycle management.
    Experience with SQL, Crystal Reports, or business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
    Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and operational teams.
    Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
