Description

HOURS: Eight hour shift M-F within 6:00 am to 6:00 pm MST operating hours.  

JOB PURPOSE:

This position supports Edupoint Educational Systems by engaging in proposal development, proposal authoring, and the timely production of responsive and fully compliant proposals in response to complex K-12 requests for proposals (RFPs) and customer requests.


JOB SUMMARY:

Lead cross-functional proposal team through the formal process for responding to informal customer requests as well as complex RFP solicitations.


JOB DUTIES:

Analyze RFP/RFQ documentation, prepare compliance matrices which involve appropriate organizational personnel and identify team member responsibilities for the proposal

Develop strategy based on competitive market information to position Edupoint's offerings

Assist with the development of the functional/ technical component of the proposal working with Subject Matter Experts (SME's) as necessary to complete

Develop, enhance and maintain a database of written proposal boilerplate

Develop, enhance and maintain a database of technical/ functional requirements responses to assist with proposal development

Write and edit proposal sections incorporating win themes and client hot buttons

Format all proposal components (Table of Contents, call-outs, font size, page count etc.) and ensure consistency with the requirements/ instructions of the solicitation

Prepare draft documents for review processes

Prepare final proposal documents and lead all physical and/or electronic submission production efforts of the proposal (binders, spines, covers, dividers, boxing, packaging, etc.)

Ensure compliant delivery of physical copies and/or electronic submission

Analyze Post Delivery and/or Award feedback and recommend improvements to the Proposal

Manage improvement programs which enhance proposal quality, style, and professionalism

Assist Bids and Proposals Manager or Chief Sales and Marketing Officer with other marketing projects as requested

Other duties as assigned


JOB REQUIREMENTS-KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

*Knowledge:

High PC literacy with all MS Office products

Working knowledge of desktop publishing tools (Adobe, Visio, etc.)

*Skills:

Strong organizational/interpersonal skills

Demonstrated track record facilitating winning proposals

Excellent project management and leadership skills

Strong written communication skills

Demonstrated business/technical orientation

Project planning & schedule management experience

Creative/technical writing capabilities

*Abilities:

Ability to effectively work in a cross-functional team environment for the successful completion of high-quality proposals


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Minimum: BS/BA degree in Business Management, Marketing or related field

5 years' experience in sales, software marketing, or similar

Experience in the K-12 administrative software market preferred

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies, occasionally lifting files, objects or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, copier and other office equipment as necessary. Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone and video conferencing contacts. Visual acuity necessary to work extended hours on computer screens. Ability to work in an environment with moderate noise and which can be fast paced and project intensive. Travel and some extended overnight trips in the performance of duties may be required.
