Job description

Opportunity:
Propel seeks an Administrative Assistant at Propel Braddock Hills Campus. This position is open immediately.
The Administrative Assistant provides support to the school leadership team and the entire school community. This position works throughout the calendar year and during school hours. This position is full-time.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Compensation: Starting salary is $38,000/year. Relevant prior work experience will be considered when determining placement within our salary range.
  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision plan options at a low cost for individual employees and families.
  • Retirement: New hires participate in a 403(b); Propel contributes 5% automatically and matches up to 4%. This increases after 5 years.
  • Paid Leave: In addition to 16-19 paid holidays annually, the Admin will receive 5 sick days and 10 Personal Days. The Admin will also accrue vacation time per pay period.
  • Wellness Benefit: Reimbursement of $20 per month for wellness activities including Gym Memberships, health programs, etc. Additionally, staff have the ability to earn up to $300 for participation in a Wellness Program each year.
Responsibilities:
  • Supports the school leadership team as well as the entire school community
  • Maintains accurate reporting, tracking, and filing of student records via our student information system, maintaining high levels of confidentiality
  • Greets, screens, tracks, and directs visitors to appropriate locations. Maintains visitor logs.
  • Provides excellent customer service to Propel families, scholars, staff and visitors via telephone, email and in-person engagement.
  • Generates and distributes communications from the school to scholar families.
  • Displays strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines and has the ability to accurately prioritize tasks
  • Answers, screens, and routes incoming calls and messages. Responds to routine questions.
  • Orders office supplies building-wide, using purchasing software
  • Maintains office equipment.
  • Completes purchase orders
  • Creates and maintains various office files, logs, and scholar records.
  • Accept internal/external deliveries and mail daily, sort and distribute all mail/packages
  • Maintains communication with various sending school district departments including bus garages, clerical staff and child accounting staff
  • Perform additional duties assigned as assigned/necessary
Qualifications & Skills:
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • One year of administrative experience preferred.
  • Experience with email, e-calendars, spreadsheets, and word processing, preferably within the Google suite of products. Ability to learn new database platforms efficiently.
  • Ability to use applicable Microsoft Suite and Google Suite products.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate clerical skills in a fast-paced, high-energy environment.
  • A proven ability to build relationships and uphold a culture of dignity with a track record of trustworthiness in maintaining sensitive, confidential information.

Starting Salary: $18.27/hr ($38,000/yr)
Physical Demands:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 75% of the time while working at the computer within the office. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc. The person in this position constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as copiers and printers.
