Job description

Seeking a Temporary Volunteer Coordinator to help connect volunteers with meaningful opportunities that support families and communities across Washington. This nonprofit food justice organization works across Washington State to deliver nutritious food to more than 350 food banks, meal programs, and schools. They distribute roughly two million meals every month through their statewide partner network. In this Temporary Volunteer Coordinator role, you'll support volunteer operations at the Auburn Distribution Center by coordinating schedules, onboarding new volunteers, and helping ensure daily warehouse activities run smoothly. This temporary position is expected to last approximately 12 weeks.


Temporary Volunteer Coordinator Duties:
  • Screen, review, and coordinate volunteer applications for the Auburn Distribution Center
  • Conduct volunteer orientations and provide training for new volunteer
  • Supervise and support volunteers to ensure safe, productive warehouse operations
  • Send weekly volunteer schedules and attendance reminders
  • Monitor volunteer coverage and fill scheduling gaps as needed
  • Communicate with volunteers regarding schedules, expectations, and updates
  • Triage the volunteer inbox and route inquiries to the appropriate team members
  • Provide administrative support to the Volunteer Program Manager, including preparing communications, printing materials, and proofreading documents
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure adequate volunteer coverage for daily operations
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
Schedule:
  • Part-Time - M 8am – 1pm, W 8am – 12pm, and F 8am – 12pm.
  • In-person
Pay:
  • $25.38 per hour
Temporary Volunteer Coordinator Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of administrative, clerical, customer service, human services, food bank, or related experience
  • At least one year of experience working in a volunteer program or coordinating volunteers
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse volunteer groups
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Plus if you have forklift or reach experiance
