Hospice Volunteer:

Making a Difference in the Lives of Patients and Families in Dawsonville, Woodstock, Norcross and surrounding areas.

Position Summary:

We are seeking compassionate and dependable volunteers to join our hospice care team. Hospice volunteers provide comfort, companionship, and support to patients and their families during end-of-life care. Volunteers play a vital role in enhancing quality of life by offering presence, empathy, and assistance tailored to the needs of each patient and family.

Responsibilities may include:

Providing companionship through conversation, reading, music, or simply sitting with patients.

Offering respite and emotional support for caregivers and families.

Assisting with light household tasks, errands, or meal preparation as needed (non-medical).

Participating in life review activities such as sharing memories or helping with legacy projects.

Supporting patients in residential homes, nursing facilities, or inpatient hospice settings.

Providing office or administrative support for the hospice team (if preferred).

Attending volunteer orientation and ongoing training sessions.

Qualifications:

Genuine compassion, empathy, and respect for patients and families.

Excellent listening and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries.

Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Completion of required hospice volunteer training program (provided).

Must pass background check and health screening (TB test, etc. as required).

Time Commitment:
