What is the difference between Project Planning vs Project Coordination?
| Aspect | Project Planning | Project Coordination |
|---|---|---|
| Primary Focus | Developing project scope, schedules, and resources | Managing day-to-day tasks and communication |
| Required Skills | Scheduling, risk management, resource allocation | Communication, organization, problem-solving |
| Work Environment | Strategic, early project phases | Execution, ongoing project phases |
| Certifications | PMP, PMI-SP often preferred | Certifications less common, focus on experience |
Project Planning involves creating detailed project strategies, schedules, and resource plans to set the foundation for successful execution. Project Coordination focuses on managing daily activities, ensuring tasks are completed on time, and facilitating communication among team members. While both roles require strong organizational skills, Project Planning is more strategic, whereas Project Coordination is more operational.
