Job description

Job Summary:

LifeSafety Management is currently seeking an experiencedFire Alarm Service Technicianto join our team. This role will be responsible for troubleshooting low voltage Fire Alarm and Security Systems and resolving any problems. Main focus will be fire alarm system with occasional exposure to other systems such as: CCTV, Access controls. Projects will typically involve commercial projects around the Southeast Florida region. This position requires a thorough understanding of fire alarm products, supporting software, and electrical systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Service of Fire Alarm and associated systems.
  • Occasional installations as needed.
  • Completion of all necessary paperwork associated with service and inspections
  • Communicate with customer before and after any call to explain work performed
  • Ensure timely job completion
  • Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job
  • Participate in "on-call rotation"
  • May mentor other technicians on tools and technology

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of field experience in repair, service, and/or installation of fire alarm systems.
  • Fire Alarm Panel Programming experience preferred.
  • Experience in other low voltage systems such as CCTV & Access Control preferred.
  • Familiarity with NFPA 72, Florida Fire Prevention Code, and local building codes.
  • Experience working with Fire-Lite and Notifier brands of equipment preferred
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Proficient in the use of computers and smart phones, specifically Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Apple iOS, and Google Android
  • High level of troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills required
  • Organized, motivated, and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to meet company driving eligibility requirements, including holding a valid driver's license and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Field certifications a plus (NICET, FASA/BASA).
