Job description


This role is a hybrid opportunity (3 days on site per week, with occasional need for 4-5 days per week on site based on project load)
The Project Manager leads cross-functional initiatives that support business and technology goals across transportation operations. Working collaboratively with IT, operational teams, and key stakeholders, this position ensures successful project execution from planning through delivery.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of technology projects from requirements gathering through implementation and post-launch support.
  • Lead integration initiatives involving APIs, EDI transactions, Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and other logistics platforms.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules, timelines, resource plans, and project documentation.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define business requirements and technical specifications.
  • Oversee data integration activities, including mapping, validation, transformation, and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinate testing activities, including system, integration, and user acceptance testing, to ensure successful deployments.
  • Monitor solution performance after implementation and identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Identify project risks, dependencies, and potential roadblocks while developing mitigation plans to maintain project momentum.
  • Ensure technical documentation, workflow diagrams, system architecture details, and integration specifications remain current and accurate.
  • Facilitate Agile project activities, including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
  • Support cross-functional teams in driving process standardization and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Promote adherence to cybersecurity, data protection, and system governance standards throughout project execution.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience with 5 years of that experience within transportation, logistics, supply chain, freight brokerage, or 3PL environments.
  • Strong understanding of transportation and supply chain operations, including dispatching, routing, carrier management, fleet operations, and freight movement.
  • Experience working with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and logistics technology platforms.
  • Knowledge of API integrations, EDI transactions, and system-to-system data exchange processes.
  • Experience coordinating software implementations, enhancements, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP is a Plus, Scrum Master, Agile, or similar project management certification.
  • Experience with cloud-based platforms, microservices architecture, and event-driven systems.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, reporting tools, data analysis, or business intelligence platforms.
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, including identity and access management, application security, cloud security, network architecture, and business continuity planning.
  • Experience managing technology vendors, carriers, and third-party logistics partners.
