Scrum Master

Location: Hybrid onsite 3 days a week in Grand Rapids


Rate: $50-60/hr.


Description:


The ideal candidate for this role has 4 to 7 years of relevant work experience. The Scrum Master supports the team in delivering value by facilitating Scrum ceremonies, promoting effective Agile practices, removing impediments, and helping the team meet its commitments. Additional responsibilities include supporting backlog refinement, authoring user stories and acceptance criteria, tracking progress, and communicating delivery risks and issues. The ideal candidate for this role will have supported complex IT initiatives and ideally has worked across infrastructure environments such as networking, servers, and virtualization machines.


Primary Responsibilities:



  • Facilitate Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review, and Retrospective.

  • Track progress and help the team meet its commitments.

  • Support the Product Owner and team with backlog readiness, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

  • Coach team members on Scrum practices and working agreements.

  • Identify and help remove impediments, facilitate conflict resolution, protect the team from unnecessary disruptions, and support continuous improvement.


Qualifications:



  • Degree in information technology, business, or a related field.

  • Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Ability to build trust and collaborate with diverse teams.

  • Practical understanding of Agile planning and estimation.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Experience: Experience serving as a Scrum Master and supporting multiple Scrum teams. Practical experience with ceremony facilitation, backlog refinement, team coaching, impediment removal, and continuous improvement. Infrastructure, networking, or operations experience preferred.


Preferred Certification: CSM, PSM, or KMP
