Job description

Position Summary

The successful Events Director is responsible for directing the vision and oversight for all development-related events and some field-related events. The Events Director will interact with a diverse group of external callers, donors and visitors, as well as, internal contacts within all levels of the organization. This role will provide leadership and management to the Event Team. The Event Director will successfully partner with vendors to execute high level donor cultivation events. To be successful, this employee must meet the objectives set out by the Development Department and carry out the required functions in an honest, competent, and confident manner. Flexibility, focus, forward-thinking, organizational skills, communication skills, and the ability to constantly re-prioritize are crucial to the success of this position. This position is responsible for playing their part to achieve the bigger mission of East-West and for ensuring that all position duties and responsibilities are clearly aligned with East-West Ministries Vision, Mission, Values, Statement of Faith, and Biblical principles.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Event coordination
    • As directed, conduct research for future events where stories of faith, scripture, and evangelism can be shared
    • Prepare agendas and other materials for event related meetings
    • Manage logistics for all local and major development events, including venues, vendors, catering, insurance, travel arrangements, booking guest speakers
    • Manage RSVP and check-in process
    • Track event financials to ensure standards of good stewardship are being followed
    • Manage event timelines
    • Work in collaboration with the EVP of Development
  • Administrative duties to include expense reports for gift officers, donor correspondence, and other gift officer support as assigned
    • Manage Event Applications (Blackthorn & SendGrid)

    • Organize volunteer(s) to assist with various Development/Marketing projects
    • Assist with field-related events as requested
    • Maintain communication with volunteers to make aware of existing needs
