What You Will Be Doing:

The Manager of Project Management leads a team of employees to support the order fulfillment of Yancey Power Solutions products from the time of Purchase Order to Commissioning. The Manager works closely with Sales, Engineering, Vendors and Customers to ensure successful completion of projects on time and on budget.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: mentoring project managers, nurturing team collaboration, and providing leadership and direction to meet customer expectations
  • Setting Standards: establishing project management methodologies and standards, and ensuring they are consistently applied
  • Resource Management: overseeing resource allocation, budgeting, and personnel assignment
  • Communication: ensuring smooth communication with internal and external stakeholders to meet project objectives
  • Risk Management: conducting risk management to minimize project risks and developing contingency plans
  • Quality Assurance: ensuring quality assurance and compliance with relevant standards
  • Performs a review of new projects to confirm accuracy of bill of materials, cost estimate and T&C’s. Works with the Salesman and Management to clear up any conflicts or misunderstandings.
  • Works with customers to obtain submittal approval, release for manufacturing, ensure project times are met and all questions are answered.
  • Issue purchase orders to vendors to procure all equipment.
  • Coordinate and purchase services of shipping companies to deliver equipment in alignment with customer requirements.
  • Perform invoicing on all delivered goods and services.
  • Travel to meetings, customer sites and vendor sites will be required. May require some overnight travel.
  • Other duties as assigned and qualified

  • Participate in required safety programs, and work in a safe manner.

The ability to give direction is essential to this position as well.

Preferred Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university or related equivalent experience required. 
  • Minimum of 10-years experience as a project manager or engineer in the electric power industry or a related technical field.
  • Previous experience and demonstrated success in team leadership and leader development. 
  • Experience successfully managing analytically rigorous corporate initiatives.
