Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking an entry level to experienced Project Manager/Principal Project Manager to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This Position is located onsite in Palmdale, CA.
This position is for the role of an Operations Support Project Manager. The selected candidate will be part of a diverse organization of project managers within the Program Integration & Execution Team and will support the Operations Manager as well as general support to the Program Leadership Team and PI&E/Program Ops team to include responsibility for implementing and maintaining program management processes and tools including such tools action item manager, health and visibility management system, the strategic rhythm, program planning and operations, program reporting and compliance, customer interface/satisfaction, program processes and productivity, program metrics and analysis, program calendars, program reviews and audits. Coordinates closely with program IPTs, functional organizations and shared services. Effectively interact with internal and external personnel of significant matters that affect the program.
The candidate will be required to improve their knowledge of industry practices and standards and demonstrate the skill and ability to perform professional tasks. This individual should possess leadership and team building capabilities and have strong interpersonal skills. Must possess solid organization abilities and be a motivated, flexible team player. Some travel will be required.
Key roles and responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):
  • Programmatic operation and integration directly supporting the Program Office in day-to-day execution
  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
  • Assess project issues, and support development of resolutions to meet productivity, quality and customer satisfaction goals and objectives
  • Development, implementation, and maintenance of tools/templates for monitoring project progress
  • Preparation of status reports and presentations for NGC internal and Customer meetings
  • Support the Program Management Office and Executive Leadership to accomplish a variety of precise, time-sensitive monthly deliverables, metrics, and presentations
  • Collaborate across multiple different Functions to ensure all objectives are met
  • Promote team engagement activities including lunch and learns, team recognition and organizational highlights
  • Establish, maintain, and proactively manage strategic rhythm of the organization to ensure preparedness for program and customer deadlines
  • Drive a sense of urgency and act with speed to meet all needs of the business and stakeholders
  • Coordination across multiple disciplines and product teams
  • Preparing status reports and maintaining detailed project logs
  • Administration of Jira and Confluence sites; adhering to and creating new process documentation and controls to ensure configuration control of data
  • Coordinate and manage a wide variety of program level meetings while tracking actions and simultaneously engaging stakeholders to prepare for follow-on discussions and meetings
  • Coordinates with higher level managers, Directors and Vice Presidents, and external Customers on daily, weekly, monthly and other tasks as assigned
  • Implement and execute Quarterly Program Management reviews which may require travel

Basic Qualifications for Project Management:
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of professional or military experience in Project Management OR Master's degree in a related field (no specific project-management experience required)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tool suite; the ability to create, manage, and manipulate the tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Active secret or top-secret US Government clearance (last investigation completed within last 6 years) and the ability to attain and maintain program access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Project Management:
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years' experience in project management or similar capacity, OR Master's degree with 3 years' experience in project management or similar capacity
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tool suite; the ability to create, manage, and manipulate the tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Active secret or top-secret US Government clearance (last investigation completed within last 6 years) and the ability to attain and maintain program access (PAR) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 4+ years' experience - general business environment with preference in project management, program integration, and/or administrative support
  • Strong interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with all levels in the organization to include Senior Leaders
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating work across multiple internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams supporting project and program deliverables.
  • Highly detail-oriented, organized, proactive, and a skilled communicator
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office tool suite; the ability to create, manage, and manipulate the tools, especially PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Proficient in using the Atlassian Suite of tools (Confluence and Jira) and Microsoft SharePoint
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and experience utilizing them professionally
  • Familiarity with the Program Management Framework (PMF)
  • Proven success managing multiple projects simultaneously and quickly adapting to rapid changes.
  • Experience working solo: self-prioritizing and tasking, consistent cadence.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills involving working collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating respect and support for colleagues
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including presentation skills to senior leadership
  • Experience creating and delivering presentations
  • Master's Degree from an accredited university
  • Active top-secret clearance
  • An additional 4 + years of military experience in a Project Management capacity will be considered favorably.

Primary Level Salary Range: $75,800.00 - $113,800.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
