We are presently seeking a Director of Project Management, who will work out of our corporate headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. and is committed to ensuring overall business success and corporate governance. The Director of Project Management is responsible for leading the operations project management function, ensuring effective execution of strategic initiatives across the organization. This role establishes governance, standards, and tools for project delivery while driving cross-functional alignment and accountability.

The position plays a critical role in executing business transformation initiatives, operational improvement programs, and integration efforts, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and aligned with financial and strategic objectives.

Main Responsibilities: 

Project Governance & Execution

    • Lead the planning and execution of global operations projects and strategic initiatives across functions and regions;
    • Establish and enforce project governance, methodologies, and performance standards to ensure consistent execution;
    • Monitor project progress, risks, and dependencies, ensuring timely resolution and delivery against commitments.
Transformation & Strategic Initiatives
    • Lead cross-functional initiatives related to operational improvement, organizational transformation, and business growth;
    • Translate strategic priorities into structured project plans, milestones, and deliverables;
    • Ensure alignment of project outcomes with enterprise objectives and financial targets;
    • Lead and coordinate project management activities for post-acquisition integration, ensuring alignment of timelines, deliverables, and stakeholders.
PMO Leadership & Capability Building
    • Build and lead the Project Management Office (PMO), including tools, templates, and reporting frameworks;
    • Develop project management capabilities across the organization, including training, coaching, and best practice deployment;
    • Standardize reporting, dashboards, and governance routines to improve transparency and decision-making.
Stakeholder & Executive Communication
    • Provide regular updates to senior leadership and executive stakeholders on project status, risks, and outcomes.
    • Facilitate governance forums, steering committees, and executive reviews;
    • Ensure strong cross-functional alignment across all stakeholders involved in projects and integration activities.

Requirements:


Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or related field;
    • MBA or advanced degree preferred;
    • PMP or equivalent certification preferred.
Experience
    • 10-15+ years of experience in project or program management;
    • Experience leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives and integration programs;
    • Proven track record delivering complex transformation and integration projects;
    • Experience in industrial, manufacturing, photonics or high-tech environments preferred.
