Job description

Position Purpose

This position will be leading strategic IT and enterprise projects for our Design and Construction team at Renown Health. You will work closely with Renown Health teams, business colleagues, and leaders across the organization to help deliver construction projects that support Renown Health’s goals. You will coordinate cross-team and cross-department efforts within our construction department, develop, and maintain project timelines, track project progress, manage project risks, and effectively communicate with the project team and stakeholders.

Nature and Scope

Incumbent will maintain accountability for the following:

• Exhibits a Servant Leadership mentality and maintains quality metrics and benchmarks for internal and external customers.

• Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Develops and implements standards, best practices and policies and procedures for the Construction Department relating to Information Technology Project Development.

• Manages all IT aspects of capital construction projects through all phases of the development process (scopes; budgets; and schedules during pre-design/planning; schematic design; design development; construction documents; bidding & negotiation; construction administration; commissioning; and post occupancy).

• Work with cross-department project teams (specifically IT) to successfully deliver IT components of Renown Health’s construction projects.

• Validate IT related construction planning, design, and construction solutions, while supervising the work product (contracted by others).

• Facilitate the clear definition of project scope, deliverables, milestones, and completion criteria to enable project success

• Lead project development with acquisition and installation of IT items during construction.

• Consistently strive to improve technical quality of work product by keeping abreast of innovative technologies and advances in the industry.

  • Coordinate internal and external project resources, including vendors, to support project activities and deadlines.
  • Continuously monitor project health and clearly communicate project status updates to stakeholders.
  • Guide project teams in identifying and mitigating IT related risks to project success and lead teams in course correcting and resolving project issues.
  • Function as a trusted IT intermediary, facilitating discussions with sponsors, key stakeholders, SMEs, management, and project team members.
  • Be the IT SME for Renown Health’s construction team. Providing network infrastructure design, cost estimating, scheduling and implementation of IT infrastructure to support construction projects.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

1. Demonstrated corporate problem-solving track record.

2. Proven ability to direct the appropriate resources to successfully complete simple physical modifications and complex multi-phase construction initiatives throughout the health network.

Education:

Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively. Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Construction Management, Computer Science, Information Systems or similar discipline with emphasis on healthcare development, planning, design and construction or applicable experience.

Experience:

5+ years of experience as an IT project manager driving delivery and adoption of complex projects with information technology solutions specifically in the construction environment. Experience working in healthcare systems is favorable.

Certification(s):

PMP Certification preferred.

Computer / Typing:

Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
