Job Summary:
In this role you'll contribute to project management efforts as a part of the Client Innovation and Business Optimization organization. You will organize and bring structure to a collection of initiatives through development and prioritization of business cases for projects within the assigned portfolio. You will conduct project process planning, execution, and deployment rollouts of small to medium sized business projects. You will work on custom software development projects, implementation of out of the box solutions, and enhancements to existing software, all with a focus on the operations process and value enablement. You will drive project delivery through Product, timeline, and budget management to ensure expected outcomes are met. You will drive communication of project status with senior levels of leadership to align business optimization initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.
• Drives project activities through SDLC effectively applying various methodologies and standards to ensure quality and success of on time, budget and delivery of projects.
• Assembles project teams, assigns individual responsibilities, develops schedules, and determines and acquires resource allocation. Communicates business case to project team to assist with decision making and prioritization; keeps business case at fore-front to drive decisions.
• Acts as liaison between stakeholders and Senior Leadership on project status, issues, and risks.
• Creates, manages, and maintains project plans and ensures effective financial forecasting and tracking.
• Interfaces with other technology and business organizations to reach agreement on Product, obtain resources and ensure proper preparedness.
• Reviews and evaluates quality, timeliness and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
• Collaborates with the business on systems strategy, requirements, designing prototyping, testing, training, procedures, and implementing solutions.
• Presents effectively to senior levels within the organization including technical and non-technical audiences, Senior Leadership.
• Liaisons with business units to partner on project Product, risk mitigation and issue resolution.
• Understands all aspects of project governance and reporting.
• Provides project planning, budgeting, contract management and procurement partnership.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
May coach and mentor less experienced team members and act as team leader on projects.
Education and Experience:
Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration or similar area of study or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience.
Experience: Four (4) years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirement). Three (3) years of project management experience also required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements:
Preferred: SAFE, Agile or PMP Certification
Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Intermediate knowledge or skills in one or more of the following required:
Managing multiple projects, in various stages of the SDLC, at one time.
Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodology (specifically in Guide Five and Nine, Waterfall).
Agile Project Management methodologies.
Aiding in definition of systems strategy, developing systems requirements, designing and prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures, and implementing practical business solutions under multiple deadlines.
Presenting, communicating and articulating effectively to all levels of the organization (including technical and non-technical audiences, Senior Leadership, VPs and C-Level Executives).
Ability to interface with senior-level stakeholders in both Information Technology and the business units to partner on project Product, risk mitigation and issue resolution.
Understanding all aspects of project governance and reporting.
Ability to create, own and present executive level presentations or communications.
May require intermediate skills in one or more of the following:
Written and verbal communication skills as well as listening skills.
Working as part of a project team.
Attention to detail.
Analytical and qualitative abilities.
Work Environment:
