Position Overview:


Client is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver complex enterprise-level technology initiatives supporting Public Safety operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background managing large-scale IT projects related to Law Enforcement, Public Safety Systems, Mobile Device Terminal (MDT) deployments, CAD/RMS implementations, Emergency Communications, or Criminal Justice environments.


This role is responsible for planning, executing, monitoring, and successfully delivering projects within scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and stakeholder requirements.


Key Responsibilities:


Project Leadership & Delivery

Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of one or more enterprise IT projects.

Review project proposals, business requirements, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations.

Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and resource plans.

Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with business objectives.

Manage scope, risks, issues, dependencies, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle.

Conduct project status reviews and provide regular updates to executive leadership and stakeholders.

Establish project governance, reporting standards, and documentation procedures.

Stakeholder & Team Management

Serve as the primary point of contact for business leaders, technical teams, vendors, and external partners.

Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

Lead cross-functional project teams and coordinate project activities across departments.

Provide leadership, mentoring, and coaching to junior project managers and project team members.

Facilitate meetings, workshops, and executive presentations.

Risk & Quality Management

Perform project risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.

Monitor project performance, quality standards, and compliance requirements.

Ensure consistency, accuracy, and integrity of project information and reporting.

Identify opportunities for process improvements and recommend enhancements to PMO methodologies.

Vendor & Resource Management

Manage third-party vendors, consultants, and implementation partners.

Review and approve vendor project plans, deliverables, and performance metrics.

Coordinate staffing requirements and resource assignments across project phases.


Required Qualifications:


Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.


Experience:

7+ years of progressive IT experience with strong business engagement.

5+ years of experience managing large, complex IT projects from initiation through completion.

Experience managing Public Safety, Law Enforcement, Criminal Justice, Emergency Response, CAD/RMS, MDT Replacement, or related government technology projects.

Experience working directly with business units and executive stakeholders.

Proven ability to lead diverse cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.


Required Skills:

Expertise in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and governance.

Strong understanding of Project Management methodologies including:
