The Manager of IT Projects is responsible for leading a team of project management and support personnel who will complete our portfolio of IT projects, which enable and support the needs of our business partners and aligns to our technology roadmaps. This role ensures those capital and expense projects achieve desired objectives on time and on budget by providing vital oversight for scope development and execution, vendor management and risk management. The ability to manage a portfolio of sophisticated projects with a high level of customer focus and collaborate with all levels are keys to success.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
  • Ensures effective project management practices are used for scoping, scheduling, budgeting, reporting and execution, and supported by effective project administration methods that are aligned with the Project Life Cycle
  • Develops, monitors and controls capital and expense budgets within defined portfolio and project targets and amounts; controls departmental expenditures, capital spend and contractor expenses
  • Builds and maintains effective relationships across IT and with business partners to successfully complete projects through each stage
  • Accountable for recruiting, training and developing team members; establishes goals, provides direction and resources through training, leadership, and performance feedback
  • Demonstrates leadership as a change agent to improve the culture of the organization by influencing others
  • Communicates established project performance status and metrics to staff, customers and leadership
  • Other duties as assigned
Education/Years of Experience:
  • Required: Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science or business related field; a minimum ten (10) years' IT, project and program management experience
  • Preferred: A minimum two (2) years' supervisory/managerial experience
Other Requirements:
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
  • Accomplished in project management, governance formulation, team management and business administration/management
  • Skilled in Project financial management and supporting organizational change
  • Fosters and builds a collaborative working relationship with company partners
  • Preferred: Energy industry experience
