Tetra Tech is seeking a Civil Project Engineer / Project Manager to join our Atlanta, GA team. This position will lead the delivery of municipal and utility infrastructure projects, with a focus on planning and designing water and wastewater treatment systems, pipelines, pump stations, and related conveyance networks. Position Summary:
As a Civil Project Engineer / Project Manager, you will lead the planning, design, and delivery of water and wastewater conveyance, pumping, treatment, and rehabilitation projects. You will serve as a technical lead, manage client relationships, coordinate with internal teams, and help ensure projects are completed with high quality, on schedule, and within budget.
Essential Job Functions:
The following duties are considered essential to the role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal clients and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Lead, perform, and manage projects that include water and wastewater treatment, distribution and transmission mains, wastewater collection, trunk and force main, pumping stations, wells, storage tanks, civil grading, drainage, as well as rehabilitation of existing infrastructure.
  • Apply technical expertise by performing design calculations and analysis, preparing detailed engineering reports, construction plans and specifications, cost estimates, permit applications, and providing construction support services.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues and maintain project quality, schedule, and budget.
  • Provide construction administration support, including field meetings, submittal review, shop drawing review, and RFIs.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance.
  • Represent Tetra Tech in professional and community organizations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on water/wastewater.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with water and wastewater conveyance and treatment projects.
  • Experience with jurisdictional and regulatory permitting.
  • Design experience with pipe materials, valves, and pumps.
  • Experience with hydraulic system calculations, pump stations, pressure pipelines, storm and sanitary sewer pipelines, and water/wastewater treatment plants.

Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods working at a desk and using a computer.
  • Occasional walking, standing, climbing, or lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
  • Field visits may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction sites, and uneven terrain.

  • Work will primarily be performed in an office environment with periodic field visits.
