Job description

This is an exciting opportunity to join a new and growing corporate organization charged with driving growth and profitability at Mirion. The ideal internal candidate will leverage his/her/their project management, LEAN, and Mirion Business System knowledge to deliver transformative products. This is a unique position, with visibility at the C-Suite level, and agnostic to division. This role will enjoy interaction with staff and technologies across all Mirion divisions.
The primary duty of the Corporate Project Manager will be to perform project management duties for key projects across all of Mirion Technologies, Inc. These projects may be run directly within the Mirion CTO office, or this project manager may be embedded with divisional project teams. This manager will often be involved with several high-profile projects concurrently.
The Corporate Project Manager is responsible for the assisting the PMO office with deploying Visual Project Management (VPM) and Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE) methodologies across all Mirion Technologies, Inc. divisions. He\Shehey shall assist the R&D Project Director in deploying LEAN principles to Mirion Engineering teams. He\Shehey will assist in monitoring the efficacy of the R&D Stage Gate process at Mirion. He\Shehey will also monitor and report on the value generation from Mirion's R&D investments.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Primary
  • Project Management duties for high-level and/or Corporate sponsored projects
    • Promote project alignment and transparency.
    • Track and report against project targets.
    • Define and communicate across a cross-functional project team structure.
    • Own the Project Master Schedule - enforcing ownership and accountability of functional swim-lanes.
    • Instruct project teams in the use of daily management planning.
    • Drive project risk management and mitigation.
    • Apply schedule compression techniques when appropriate.
    • Utilize a tiered reporting structure to ensure appropriate audience, cadence, and agenda for meetings.
    • Scaling from individual contributors all the way to Senior Corporate Executives.
  • Corporate PMO duties
    • Gather, interpret, and report metrics and KPIs via standard dashboards for individual projects and the larger Mirion project portfolio.
    • Standardize the storage of project documentation and artifacts.
    • Aide the PMO and CTO offices in improving project delivery methodologies via Visual Project Management, and improving consistency in project evaluation via the Mirion Stage Gate process.
    • Become a corporate expert in Visual Project Management techniques, and assist the PMO office in deploying these techniques across all divisions.
    • Facilitate and lead kaizen events targeting project planning, process improvements, problem solving, and continuous improvement.
    • Become a corporate expert in VAVE techniques, and assist the PMO office in deploying these techniques across all divisions.
    • Provide mentoring, coaching, and guidance for junior project managers throughout the entire organization.

EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, science, technology, or business.

EXPERIENCE
  • 6+ Years experience managing cross-functional project teams.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS
  • Should be confident, professional, and self-motivated.
  • Requires both computer and writing skills, with the ability to work on their own initiative and as part of a team.
  • The ideal candidate will be an effective communicator, with polished presentation skills.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Clearly communicate in both oral and written form.
  • Understand the speech of another person.
  • Stand or sit for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs occasionally
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk 2-4 hours at a time throughout 8-hour workday.
  • Required ability to use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
  • Verbal and Listening Skills required.
  • Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
