Description
Middleburg Communities is looking for a Project Engineer for a number of multifamily construction projects. As an essential member of the Project Team, the Project Engineer provides technical and field support to the Project Manager, the Superintendent, and the Subcontractor. The Project Engineer is an integral part of our Mission, lives by our Values, and promotes our Vision of Excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the company's safety program is enforced in accordance with the company's best practice policies, as well as all local, state, and federal laws.
  • Manage documents such as electronic document files, hyperlinks (e.g., RFIs, submittals, sketches, and inspections), and notify team members of updates.
  • Ensure that a master list of all sketches, specifications, and drawings is maintained during the project.
  • Manage the submittal process including the creation of the submittal log, receipt of submittals, compliance review, submission, logging, tracking, and distribution to the project team.
  • Manage the RFI process including the creation of RFIs, submission, logging, tracking, hyperlinking, and distribution to the project team.
  • Provide support for the documentation of site meetings.
  • Maintain an electronic as-built drawing package or a set of redlined as-built plans.
  • Support the Project Team with documentation, permit tracking, scheduling inspections, contacting subcontractors, and other miscellaneous tasks.
  • Assist in the collection and management of project close-out documentation, such as the receipt of necessary documentation from subcontractors, the electronic assembly of close-out documents, and the compilation of binders, as well as the transmission of all necessary information.
  • Participate in the project turnover process.
  • Track completion of all punch list items and distribute the final punch list to the responsible subcontractors

Requirements
Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Business, Engineering, or related field Preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, and an understanding of Procore are a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • A strong ability to assess and prioritize a variety of tasks, projects, and demands.
  • Ability to organize and interact effectively with others
