Title: Project Engineer
Location: Washington, DC / Maryland / Virginia (Office-based with occasional site visits)
Job status: Non- Exempt
Salary: $75,000-$90,000
Position Summary
Anchor Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of heavy civil construction projects. This role works closely with Project Managers, field teams, subcontractors, and clients to keep projects safe, organized, on schedule, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
  • Support project planning, scheduling, documentation, and contract administration
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, permits, and project closeout documents
  • Track quantities, invoices, project costs, and production progress
  • Coordinate with field crews, superintendents, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Conduct site visits to ensure quality, compliance, and safety standards
  • Assist with change orders, project reporting, and project meetings

Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred
  • 2+ years of Project Engineer experience (or 6+ years of relevant construction experience)
  • Heavy civil construction experience preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Primavera P6 and AutoCAD experience a plus
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver license required
