We are a leading contractor specializing in concrete restoration and historic masonry repair, is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to support our project management team. The Project Engineer will assist in planning, coordination, and execution of restoration projects, ensuring quality, historical integrity, and timely completion. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a passion for historic structures and a strong technical foundation in construction engineering.

This position will report to our office location in College Park, MD.
Salary range : $75,000 - $85,000/annually
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Support Project Managers in the day-to-day management of concrete and masonry restoration projects.
  • Assist in preparing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and other documentation.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to gather technical data and ensure compliance with project specifications.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor work progress, quality assurance, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Track project materials, equipment, and deliveries to maintain efficient workflow.
  • Assist in preparing estimates, take-offs, and proposals during the pre-construction phase.
  • Document project updates, change orders, and issues that arise during construction.
  • Help ensure that all work meets historical preservation standards and local building codes.
  • Participate in project meetings and prepare meeting minutes and follow-up actions.
  • Collaborate with field personnel to resolve technical issues and support effective communication between the field and office.

Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in construction, preferably in concrete restoration, historic masonry, or similar specialties.
  • Familiarity with restoration techniques, materials, and historical preservation guidelines is preferred.
  • Strong technical, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and historical documents.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site as needed and travel to project locations.

Additional Qualifying Factors:
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
Working Conditions
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
