Job description

Our client in Renton, WA is currently hiring for a Project Engineer. This position is a fully onsite opportunity supporting a large-scale heavy civil infrastructure project in the greater Seattle area. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting construction projects through submittals, RFIs, scheduling, project documentation, and field operations. Experience on heavy civil, infrastructure, transportation, water resources, or federal projects is highly preferred.

Pay - $85,000 - $100,000 annually

Location - Renton, WA (Onsite)

Schedule - Standard Monday - Friday (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage project submittals, RFIs, and construction documentation.

• Assist with development of work plans, means and methods, and construction execution plans.

• Support project scheduling activities including updates, tracking, and reporting.

• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and field personnel.

• Assist with estimating, quantity takeoffs, bid preparation, and cost tracking.

• Maintain project records and documentation using company systems and project management software.

• Support procurement activities and material tracking.

• Participate in project meetings and provide administrative and technical support to the project team.

• Assist with project reporting and communication across internal and external stakeholders.

• Support field operations throughout the lifecycle of a major infrastructure project.

Qualification Requirements

• 2+ years of Construction Project Engineer experience.

• Experience managing or supporting submittals and RFIs.

• Experience supporting work plans, scheduling activities, and construction documentation.

• Experience in heavy civil, infrastructure, transportation, water resources, structures, or related construction projects.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.

• Experience using Bluebeam, Procore, and SharePoint.

• Strong organizational and communication skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.

• Experience coordinating with field teams, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

• Federal project experience is preferred.

• Infrastructure or structures project experience is preferred.

Disqualifiers

• No Construction Project Engineer experience.

• No experience handling submittals or RFIs.

• No construction documentation or project coordination experience.

• No experience within heavy civil, infrastructure, transportation, water resources, or related construction projects.

• No experience with Bluebeam, Procore, or SharePoint.

• Less than 2 years of relevant construction project engineering experience.
