Position: Project Coordinator, Automotive
Employment Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire
Location: Southfield/Detroit, MI (Must be in the Detroit / Southfield, MI area to able to go be in office and go onsite with sales to customers.)
Salary: $55,000-$65,000 DOE
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Project Coordinator to support automotive-related customer and acquisition projects. This role acts as a key liaison between sales, customers, distributors, and internal teams, ensuring projects are executed efficiently from initiation through completion. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and excels at coordinating multiple priorities while delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Sales Support

  • Independently manage customer and acquisition projects from start to finish
  • Support the Sales Director with strategic initiatives and special projects
  • Coordinate product support activities and customer requirements
  • Prepare and manage quotations, pricing programs, and sales-related documentation

Customer & Distributor Coordination

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for distributors, customers, and sales teams
  • Coordinate color matching processes with distributors and end users
  • Handle customer inquiries and follow up on requests in a timely manner
  • Manage complaint resolution and regional follow-up

Planning & Reporting

  • Monitor supply chain activities and review customer forecasts
  • Maintain project tracking lists; send reminders, updates, and action items
  • Collect and analyze sales reports, itineraries, and follow-up actions
  • Ensure reporting is accurate and delivered within established timelines

Documentation & Administration

  • Prepare documentation for customer visits, sales meetings, and technical training sessions
  • Maintain customer databases, reference lists, and project records
  • Track and manage color sample inventories and marketing materials
  • Support trade show preparation, logistics, and materials handling

Operations & Compliance

  • Utilize internal systems (e.g., SAP/ERP) for project tracking and reporting

  • Ensure accurate communication of technical and project information
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and procedures

Qualifications
Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, automotive, or related industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
