Job description

Located in Livingston-Oakland County, our client is a construction contractor that has been successful for over 40+ years. The company prides itself on the strengths of its field personnel and management team, which has led to significant growth and geographical expansion. Projects range from large scale airport runway repair projects, multi-mile freeway pavement maintenance, and some mid-sized commercial projects.

Project Coordinator Position

The Project Coordinator supports the Company’s project management and estimating teams throughout the full project lifecycle, serving as an organized point of contact for bidding, contracts, and field coordination. A typical day includes identifying and searching for projects to bid, communicating with subcontractors during the bidding process, filling out bid paperwork and managing the submittal process, creating and processing subcontracts and purchase orders, tracking daily job quantities reported by foremen, coordinating with foremen on material deliveries, assisting with project scheduling, processing project submittals, and preparing job closeout paperwork.

This role requires someone who is highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling multiple priorities and deadlines. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable communicating with subcontractors and suppliers, preparing accurate paperwork, and coordinating closely with foremen and project managers to keep jobs moving smoothly.

Experience, Skills and Abilities for the Project Coordinator Position

·       Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent industry experience

·       At least two years of experience in a construction project coordination, administration, estimating support, or similar role

·       Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to track multiple projects, deadlines, and details simultaneously

·       Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage directly with subcontractors, suppliers, foremen, and project managers

·       A bias toward action, attention to detail, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves to keep projects on track

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with construction management or scheduling software is a plus

Compensation, Benefits and Structure for the Project Coordinator Position

Rewards for this position include a competitive base salary based on experience, skills, and abilities, health insurance, retirement plan with company match, and generous time off.
