Job description

A Snapshot of Your Day
The Logistics Project Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing complex domestic and international logistics operations involving heavy lift, oversized, and project cargo. This role ensures compliance with all import/export regulations, customs requirements, and transportation constraints while managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical logistics knowledge, advanced Excel capabilities, and the ability to proactively mitigate risk across the full logistics lifecycle.
How You'll Make an Impact
  • Develop logistics concepts and pricing supporting the sales process. Evaluate proposals and quotations during execution and supporting award decisions based on evaluation of vendor risk, capability, experience and method. Areas of focus is heavy and over dimensional cargo.
  • Support import / export processes and knowledge of US Customs formalities and regulations.
  • Identify risks and work with the team to develop mitigation plans. Ensure road permits, rail clearances, HAZMAT declarations and other regulatory requirements that are part of project logistics are in place and validated.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders externally, including freight forwarders, carriers, riggers, customs brokers and surveyors. Coordinate internally with project management teams, finance teams, transport engineers, factory personnel and field service personnel and others as needed.
  • Review and validate shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, Safety Data Sheets, etc.
  • Track project status, report non-conformance and overall performance of the logistics scope, develop supplier relationships and manage claims as needed.

What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field preferred; Substitution of years of experience or other degrees can be considered.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience delivering project cargo/heavy lifts, and oversized shipments via ocean, air, rail, barge, and road while having working knowledge of international import/export regulations, INCOTERMS and customs procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (tracking logs, reporting, data management), & proficiency in Microsoft Word. Ability to bring digitalization skills (automation, artificial intelligence, etc.)
