About the Role

Talarico for Texas is building a movement to take back power for working people. The campaign is seeking a full-time Policy & Special Projects Associate to produce high-quality policy research and support various cross-departmental projects.

Responsibilities

  • Research policy issues, ongoing policy debates, and Congressional actions
  • Draft one-pagers, issue briefs, and talking points
  • Help build and maintain relationships with community leaders, policy experts, and advocacy groups to gather diverse perspectives on policy issues
  • Track and draft responses to incoming inquiries and feedback about Jamesโ€™ policy priorities
  • Support special projects in collaboration with other campaign departments

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Prior campaign or policy experience is preferred, but not required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Discretion when dealing with sensitive information
  • Ability to learn quickly, implement feedback, and meet tight deadlines under pressure
  • Willingness to be a team player and support colleagues and the campaign at large
