Job description

Summary

We are currently representing a well-established General Contractor with over 50 years of experience delivering impactful infrastructure across California. With a strong legacy of building schools, libraries, hospitals, civic centers, and other essential public facilities, the firm continues to grow its footprint throughout the state.

They are currently seeking Project Engineers to support a growing number of K-14 school construction projects, including ground-up builds, modernizations, and renovations. Many upcoming projects are tied to the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), and candidates with prior LAUSD or DSA-regulated project experience will be strongly considered. Public Works and Municipal project experience is also valuable.

Responsibilities

  • Support the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction through closeout, for K-14 and public infrastructure projects

  • Assist with constructability reviews, estimating, procurement, scheduling, and material tracking

  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and change orders

  • Coordinate communication between project management, field teams, subcontractors, and consultants

  • Track schedules, assist with updates, and communicate changes to relevant parties

  • Support cost tracking, invoice review, and contract administration

  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality procedures across all job phases

  • Contribute to a positive team environment that prioritizes collaboration and accountability

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in construction, preferably with exposure to K-14, Public Works, or DSA-regulated projects

  • LAUSD project experience is highly preferred and will be given strong consideration

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage detailed project records

  • Familiarity with construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively and support cross-functional project teams
