Senior Superintendent- Prism Electric

Responsibilities:
  • Examine plans and provide technical guidance regarding the installation of electrical systems within time and budget parameters
  • Develop plans to install all electrical wiring and equipment installations required by the project
  • Assist in developing and enforcing budgets set for the project goals, as well as supporting project supervisors and employing tasks for the field personnel in implementing the electrical plan
  • Ensure all safety measures and regulations are followed, as accident prevention and worker safety are high priority items for Prism Electric
  • Monitor work progress and coordinates with the project superintendents to deliver progress reports
  • Enforcement of all company policies
  • Schedule all manpower required for projects
  • Oversee all projects through onsite superintendents
  • Develop job project schedule/man loading in conjunction with job superintendent
  • Send division man loading to manager every two weeks
  • Work with project manager and project superintendent to ensure project stays on schedule
  • Assist project manager and project superintendent in setting up cost codes at the beginning of all projects and assist with technical information when needed.
  • Monitor cost codes on weekly basis and review results with superintendents
  • Meet with owners/general contractors regularly to build relationships (attend jobsite meetings when possible)
  • Collect and review daily reports and associated paper work from each project
  • Review individual performance of each employee on a yearly basis and make recommendations for promotions, demotions, terminations or wage adjustments
  • Work with HR in the enforcement of company policies
  • Review job sites for cleanliness and assist safety directors to ensure a safe workplace
  • Interview prospective new employees
  • Ensure projects are built to requirements and specifications established by construction documents
  • Monitor production schedules and critical paths for projects
  • Ensure the implementation of QA/QC documents
  • Throughout construction verify the accuracy of the percentages of completion
  • Identify the needs and provide training and guidance for the project superintendents.
  • Participate in the coordination of activities between the team members

Requirements:
  • Active Journeyman's or Master's License in the state of Texas or Oklahoma
  • Prior knowledge and/or ability to learn and understand the estimating process
  • Must be safety oriented
  • Proficiency with MS Excel and Word is required
  • Exposure to Accubid a plus
  • Strong verbal, written, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong customer service skills required
  • Ability to be mobile to various locations and available to travel to project areas as project needs are required
  • General Superintendents are required to be on-site from time-to-time to develop and implement plans while monitoring the activities of work crews, ensuring progress and safety, and overseeing quality control until the project has reached full completion.

The job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses always), respirator when required. Able to work 8 -10 hours per day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts. Includes crawling, standing, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, able to routinely lift heavy objects more than 50 pounds and pushing and pulling of objects is required. Repetitive use of arms, hands and fingers. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of the job
