Responsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:
Posillico Civil, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to work in their UHPC Solutions Division for construction of specialty concrete bridge rehabilitation projects throughout the continental United States. The ideal candidate will have education and/or experience performing project engineering/estimating functions for projects exceeding $10 million dollars. The Project Engineer is responsible for supporting the construction field team with project documentation, subcontractor management, quality control, and safety from project start-up, design phase services, construction, through final close out. When not supporting the construction field team, the Project Engineer will perform estimating tasks to ensure a steady flow of work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Serve as Project Engineer for bridge rehabilitation projects involving the use of Ultra High-Performance Concrete (a specialty concrete product) reporting to the Sr Project Engineer or Project Manager.
• Support the project safety program by preparing and giving weekly Toolbox Talks and Daily Safety Huddles.
• Maintain records on the project including Safety Manual, MSDS files, QA/QC reports, project inspections, and other project correspondence
• Perform daily quantity review with Superintendents and Job Foreman. Enter daily quantities into system and file daily sheets. Enter daily payroll information by specific task and assist in productivity tracking.
• Maintain record set of plans with all plan revisions. Track completion of work on project plans. Prepare as-built drawing mark-ups.
• Perform monthly review of estimates with job Superintendent/ Project Manager. Maintain a file, tracking all extra work. Notify Project Manager or Division Manager of anticipated overruns/underruns.
• Track all subcontractors that worked on the project for the month utilizing the Subcontractor Daily Log. Submit monthly estimates with subcontractor payment sheets to Accounting upon approval from the owner.
• Review and approve material and supplier invoices for the project on a regular basis.
• Maintain general correspondence file with correspondence, shop drawing, subcontractor daily, and delivery logs.
• Assist in purchase of job materials to ensure the proper quantities are delivered.
• Review project plans and assist in ensuring work is completed properly.
• Develop project look-ahead schedules.
• Use of specialty websites to identify potential upcoming bids across the US.
• Perform material quantity takeoffs, specification page turners and going through all aspects in the project related to our scope of work.
• Participate in bid reviews and contacting prime contractors prior to the bid date.
• Sending out proposals as well as following up with the apparent low bidder in the following weeks after the bid closes.
Qualifications
• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• EIT preferred.
• Prefer 2 - 5 years of experience in general contracting performing project engineer/estimator function for civil infrastructure/bridge projects.
• Must be capable of meeting deadlines, self-motivated, detail oriented and have excellent follow-through capability.
• Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment; able to accurately process written documents, perform duties in a timely manner, be highly organized and able to interface; communicate effectively with company, clients and field personnel at all levels.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, decision-making ability, strong management and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and project management, project scheduling and document control/sharing software.
• Reliable and self-driven.
• High level of fairness, honesty and integrity.
• High level of creativity, adaptability and empathy.
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills (written and oral) to represent the company during projects of leading construction sites.
• Resourcefulness, imagination and a passion for challenges.
• Willing to work in an international construction company and team.
• Familiarity with UHPC (ultra high performance concrete), in hydrodemolition, bridge or infrastructure rehabilitation is a plus.
Location: Southern New Jersey, North Delaware, Anticipate 25- 50% travel in the United States
Compensation: $82,500 to $125,000 annually
