Unlike traditional firms where architects are separated from the build process, our client-facing architects collaborate directly with skilled timber framers, craftspeople, and construction teams from concept through completion.

Remote work:

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Project management
    • Schedule and lead meetings
    • Keep projects on track regarding budget and schedule
    • Quickly arrive at solutions to issues when they arise
  • Client management
    • Gain and keep client’s trust
    • Manage expectations and make sure they always know the next step
  • Design
    • Develop early design concepts based on Design Manager and Client input
    • Provide feedback to other team members during collaborative charette sessions
    • Produce and develop design presentations at project milestones
  • Construction documentation and coordination
    • Assist in producing construction documents and details
    • Manage document control and revisions for in construction projects
    • Visit local job sites and resolve issues and details, collaborate with on site teams

Potential Growth Responsibilities:

  • Lead cultivation
    • Meet with potential clients to discuss projects and determine fit
    • Develop fee proposals and present to potential clients
    • Track deals and manage incoming leads through CRM software
  • Business Development
    • Attend local events to market the design group and develop business
  • Design co-lead
    • Full ownership of design direction on specific projects
    • Oversee path from concept to drawing and production

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in architecture practice
  • 4 year degree in Architecture related field
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs
  • Strong design ability
  • High attention to detail
  • Technical detailing experience
  • Ability to lead client interactions and manage project communication
  • Highly collaborative, ability to work effectively with a team
  • Working knowledge of wood framed construction
  • Experience bringing a project from design to full construction documentation
  • Highly organized, great note taker
  • Ability to manage multiple project deliverables and prioritize
  • Interest in sustainable and high performance design practices

Preferred:

  • Experience with Enscape
  • Experience working on residential projects
  • NCARB experience hours complete (Licensure is not required)
  • Interest or experience with building science concepts
  • Experience managing small to medium architectural projects
