Job description

Description
Rylo is hiring a Lifecycle Marketing Lead to own how we engage, activate, retain, and grow our customer relationships over time.
This role exists to turn customer intent into meaningful, measurable action. You'll build the programs, messaging, segmentation, and experimentation engine that help people understand Rylo's value, get to their next milestone, and keep coming back. It's a high-ownership role for someone who knows how to combine customer insight, sharp copy, data, and operational rigor into lifecycle programs that move the business.
The difference you will make
Build the lifecycle foundation. Create the core programs that guide customers from first touch through activation, retention, expansion, and re-engagement.
Make every customer interaction more relevant. Use behavior, lifecycle stage, and intent signals to shape messaging that feels timely, useful, and specific.
Increase activation and retention. Identify the moments that matter in the customer journey, then design campaigns that help customers reach value faster and stay engaged longer.
Create a culture of experimentation. Test subject lines, messaging, timing, audiences, offers, and channels to learn what works and continuously improve performance.
Connect marketing to measurable outcomes. Own lifecycle reporting, learn from the data, and translate insights into clear decisions and next steps.
Raise the quality bar for customer communication. Bring clarity, taste, and consistency to the way Rylo communicates across lifecycle channels.
Use AI to scale your impact. Leverage AI to accelerate content creation, analyze customer behavior, generate insights, and automate repetitive work, so you can spend more time improving the customer experience and driving better outcomes.
What you will do
  • Own lifecycle marketing strategy across activation, engagement, retention, reactivation, and growth.
  • Design and launch email, in-product, and other lifecycle campaigns that move customers through key moments in the journey.
  • Map customer segments, lifecycle stages, behavioral triggers, and messaging opportunities.
  • Build onboarding and activation flows that help customers understand value quickly.
  • Develop retention and re-engagement programs that bring customers back with relevant, useful communication.
  • Write clear, compelling lifecycle copy that reflects Rylo's voice and gives customers a reason to act.
  • Partner with product, growth, data, and customer-facing teams to understand user behavior and identify opportunities.
  • Define campaign goals, track performance, and report on results across key lifecycle metrics.
  • Run structured experiments to improve conversion, engagement, retention, and repeat usage.
  • Turn customer insights, product usage data, and campaign learnings into better segmentation and messaging.
  • Maintain a high-quality lifecycle calendar and ensure campaigns are coordinated, timely, and operationally sound.
  • Build repeatable processes that make lifecycle marketing more scalable over time.

Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience owning lifecycle, retention, CRM, email, or growth marketing programs.
  • Experience with a mobile consumer app, ideally in a high-growth B2C technology company.
  • A strong understanding of customer journeys, segmentation, behavioral triggers, and lifecycle stage-based messaging.
  • Proven ability to build campaigns that improve activation, engagement, retention, or reactivation.
  • Strong copywriting skills, with the ability to make complex ideas clear, concise, and motivating.
  • Comfort working with data to diagnose opportunities, measure campaign performance, and make decisions.
  • Experience running experiments and using results to improve future campaigns.
  • Strong operational judgment, including the ability to manage multiple campaigns, details, and timelines without losing quality.
  • Hands-on experience using AI tools to improve the speed, quality, and effectiveness of marketing execution.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with product, growth, data, and customer-facing teams.
  • A customer-first mindset and a high bar for relevance, clarity, and usefulness in every message.
  • High ownership, strong follow-through, and the ability to turn ambiguous opportunities into shipped work.
  • Availability to work hours aligned with the Eastern Time Zone.
  • Compensation: $150,000 - $300,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

Why this role matters
Lifecycle marketing is where customer understanding becomes business impact. In this role, you'll shape the systems and messages that help Rylo's customers get more value, more often. If you're excited by the combination of strategy, copy, data, experimentation, and ownership, this is a chance to build an important function with real room to define how it works.

Join as a key player at an early stage and receive generous options
Unlimited time off and sick days
Annual company get-together
