Job SummaryWe are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineering Director to join our growing Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. This role is critical in leading and supporting the SRM design and analysis group for our growing portfolio of development programs. Our SRM design and analysis group includes design, analysis, development testing and performance analysis of our Solid Rocket Motors. ** This is a full-time position with a 9/80 schedule. This position can be remote or at our Huntsville, AL or Hampton, AR facility. Impact of the RoleGeneral Profile

Essential Functions
  • Oversees a team of mechanical engineers that design, analyze, and maintain mechanical components and systems to meet specified requirements and standards.
  • Utilizes CAD software and other design and modeling tools to plan, develop, and improve mechanical parts or components and communicate conceptual designs and specifications to stakeholders.
  • Oversees prototype testing to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems and reviews data and analysis to develop improvements.
  • Implements departmental policies and procedures to delegate workflow and ensure projects are completed on time and within required specifications and quality standards.
  • Leads the research and development of innovative or new technologies to improve existing products or processes.
  • Ensures projects follow organizational best practices for design, prototyping, and testing.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers.
Required Qualifications
  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 8-10 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
